These Moon + Star Misfit Dangle Studs are completely one of a kind, with intentionally mismatched details that still feel like they belong together.
The earrings start with sterling silver mini hoop studs, each finished with a solid 14k yellow gold dangle. On one side, I hand fabricated a crescent moon and set it with three sapphires. On the other, I created a round gold charm with a pink sapphire set into a hand-engraved star, finished with an additional purple sapphire dangle below. The result a pastel dream.
I love the balance between the two earrings. Each side has its own personality, but the mix of sterling silver, yellow gold, and colorful sapphires ties them together.

I noticed the cool shape of these vintage hoops in a second-hand shop here in Rhode Island, and the moment I picked them up and clicked the lever backs, I was delighted. They’re incredibly lightweight, beautifully shaped, and had that quiet little spark that told me they were meant for a second life. I added a Misfit Heart charm to each hoop — sterling silver with a soft satin finish and hand-engraved sapphires — to give them movement, color, and asymmetry.
Every piece in the Reborn Vintage Collection has been carefully restored and is in strong, wearable condition — but as with all vintage jewelry, a little extra care goes a long way. Avoid swimming, showering, or using harsh chemicals while wearing your piece, and store it safely when not in use. I found these vintage horse and horseshoe charms together on an old charm bracelet, and I loved the idea of keeping them together as a mismatched pair. One is a tiny horse head, while the other is a horseshoe topped with a four-leaf clover, both classic symbols of luck.
The charms are made from 800 silver, a silver standard commonly found in vintage European jewelry. Based on their construction and where they came from, they are likely mid-century pieces. I paired them with simple sterling silver hinged hoops, turning two little pieces of an old charm bracelet into an easy-to-wear pair of earrings.
I especially love that they coordinate without matching exactly. They have the same equestrian theme and vintage feel, but each earring has its own little personality.
Please note: due to the vintage nature of these charms, they may show subtle signs of wear consistent with their age and history. Preserving a bit of their past is intentional.

Even carefully restored vintage silver pieces require a little extra care. To help preserve the finish and original vintage details, avoid exposure to chemicals, perfumes, lotions, household cleaners, and jewelry cleaning solutions.
